The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes or the Domain (as it is most commonly known) is an area of ground surrounding the Catholic shrine (Grotto) to Our Lady of Lourdes in the town of Lourdes, France. The Sanctuary is a destination for pilgrimage; sick pilgrims are reputed to be miraculously healed by Lourdes water.
Lourdes is a very special place to go on Pilgrimage even if you are not a Catholic. Anybody from all walks of life and from different religions will definitely appreciate how wonderful and mysterious Lourdes is.
Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Park Hills, KY, has a parking lot that can accommodate between 35 and 40 vehicles. On the weekends, there are between 5 and 7 extra spaces in the parking lot located behind the city hall / fire / police department right across from the church (please do not park in space at the front of this building).

Eventually everyone did believe Bernadette and the grotto at Lourdes became a place of worship and the Lourdes holy water was sacred for performing miracles. At the age of 22, Bernadette became a nun and devoted her life to Mary, to praying for the conversion of sinners and to the service of God.
In 1858 Lourdes rose to prominence in France and abroad due to the Marian apparitions claimed to have been seen by the peasant girl Bernadette Soubirous, who was later canonized. Shortly thereafter the city with the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes became one of the world's most important sites of pilgrimage and religious tourism.
